Polyhedral mesh quality indicator for the Virtual Element Method

چکیده

We present the design of a mesh quality indicator that can predict behavior Virtual Element Method (VEM) on given family or finite sequence polyhedral meshes (dataset). The is designed to measure violation regularity assumptions are normally considered in convergence analysis. investigate this new mathematical tool lowest-order conforming approximation three-dimensional Poisson equation. This work also assesses rate VEM when applied very general meshes, including non-convex and skewed elements. Such created within an original generation framework, which allow with different sizes, connectivity, geometrical properties. obtained results show significant correlation between measured priori by effective performance VEM.

Fast Finite Element Method Using Multi-Step Mesh Process

This paper introduces a new method for accelerating current sluggish FEM and improving memory demand in FEM problems with high node resolution or bulky structures. Like most of the numerical methods, FEM results to a matrix equation which normally has huge dimension. Breaking the main matrix equation into several smaller size matrices, the solving procedure can be accelerated. For implementing ...

Polyhedral Mesh Generation

A new methodology to generate a hex-dominant mesh is presented. From a closed surface and an initial all-hex mesh that contains the closed surface, the proposed algorithm generates, by intersection, a new mostly-hex mesh that includes polyhedra located at the boundary of the geometrical domain. The polyhedra may be used as cells if the field simulation solver supports them or be decomposed into...

A Projective Framework for Polyhedral Mesh Modelling

I present a novel framework for polyhedral mesh editing with face-based projective maps, that preserves planarity by definition. Such meshes are essential in the fields of construction and architectural design. By using homogeneous coordinates to describe vertices, we gain a rich and linear shape space of meshes with planar faces. The generality of this space allows for polyhedral geometric pro...

A Projective Framework for Polyhedral Mesh Modeling

We present a novel framework for polyhedral mesh editing with face-based projective maps, that preserves planarity by definition. Such meshes are essential in the field of architectural design and rationalization. By using homogeneous coordinates to describe vertices, we can parametrize the entire shape space of planar-preserving deformations with bilinear equations. The generality of this spac...
